HooBuy QC for Alignment, Symmetry and Print Placement
An item can look crooked in a warehouse photo even when its construction is acceptable. The garment may be folded, a bag may be leaning, one shoe may sit closer to the camera, or the lens may not be centered. The opposite is also possible: a carefully arranged photo can hide a print that is noticeably off the product's true center. Alignment QC therefore needs a reference method, not a quick visual reaction.
The purpose of this guide is to decide whether the available HooBuy QC photos show a meaningful placement issue, a photographic distortion, or an evidence gap. It does not set one factory tolerance for every product. Before reviewing, define what matters for your intended use and which visible difference would actually change your ship, return or evidence-request decision.
Check product identity before geometry
First match the item to the order: product type, colour, size label, quantity and visible option details. A perfectly centered graphic on the wrong size is still the wrong item. Save the source listing and ordered variant beside the warehouse item ID so the visual review remains connected to the purchase record.
Then ask whether the source provides a usable design reference. Seller images can show intended placement, but they are not warehouse evidence and may be edited or show another size. Use them to identify design landmarks, not to promise an exact millimetre match. If the listing shows deliberately asymmetric construction, do not “correct” it into a symmetrical expectation.
Use stable reference axes
A reference axis is a visible structural line that should remain meaningful when the product lies flat. On a T-shirt or hoodie, useful references may include the neck opening, zipper, shoulder seams, side seams and bottom hem. On a bag, use the top edge, center closure, handle anchors and base. On shoes, use the toe centerline, tongue, lace row and heel seam. Choose references that belong to the product, not the edge of the photograph.
Do not measure directly from a screenshot unless the image is square to the product and contains a reliable scale. Pixel distances can help compare left and right spacing within the same plane, but they do not become physical measurements. If a centimetre difference matters, request a ruler view with clear endpoints.
Correct for camera angle before calling a defect
Perspective makes the side closer to the camera appear larger. Look for warning signs: one sleeve or shoe occupies more of the frame, parallel edges converge, a rectangular label becomes trapezoidal, or the product's centerline does not align with the camera. Rotation is simpler—it makes every horizontal reference tilt by a similar amount. A placement problem usually remains different relative to the product's own lines.
Folds create local distortion. Smooth fabric around a print can be compared more reliably than bunched fabric. Stuffing can change bag shape, and loose laces can pull a shoe tongue sideways. If the suspected misalignment disappears in another image or follows a fold, classify it as uncertain rather than defective.

Review symmetry in layers
1. Overall silhouette
Compare the left and right outline only after the item is arranged consistently. Check shoulder height, sleeve length appearance, bag side shape or paired shoe proportions. Soft products do not hold a mathematically perfect outline, so focus on persistent differences across images rather than small wrinkles.
2. Structural components
Inspect paired pockets, straps, handle anchors, eyelets, panels and decorative patches. Compare their relationship to stable seams or edges. Count matters before spacing: confirm both components exist, then compare their positions. A component hidden under a fold is an evidence gap, not a missing part.
3. Applied graphics
For a centered chest print, compare its midpoint with the neckline or zipper and its lower edge with the hem. For back graphics, include both side seams in the frame. For sleeve prints, use the sleeve seam and cuff instead of the image border. For shoe logos, compare matched left and right shoes in the same orientation; mirrored construction can make identical screen positions the wrong expectation.
Define an acceptance threshold before zooming in
Repeated zooming can make any small difference feel important. Decide first what outcome the item must support. A large central graphic may justify a stricter placement check than a small hidden label. A paired set may need visible consistency. A handmade-looking or washed finish may intentionally vary. Your threshold should relate to use and design, not an invented universal manufacturing rule.
Write the threshold in observable language: “I need the front graphic to appear centered between the side seams when the garment lies flat,” or “The two handle anchors should look level relative to the top edge.” Avoid “perfect” and “flawless.” Those words give no measurable decision and invite overclaiming from limited photos.
Request one image that can settle the question
A useful request names the product state, camera angle, reference landmarks and suspected feature. For example: “Please lay the hoodie flat without stretching it and photograph the full front straight-on, with both side seams and the bottom hem visible, so I can compare the graphic center.” That is more answerable than “Is the print crooked?”
If distance matters, request a measurement only after choosing clear endpoints. Ask for left and right spacing from the same graphic edge to the corresponding product seam. A single ruler floating near the print does not define the comparison. Confirm any available added service and displayed amount in the live account before requesting it; no fixed photo count or price is asserted here.
Record a bounded decision
- Match the warehouse item to the ordered variant.
- Identify whether the design is intended to be symmetric.
- Select two stable product reference axes.
- Check rotation, perspective, folds and product arrangement.
- Compare the suspected feature across every available angle.
- State your acceptance threshold in observable terms.
- Request one decision-changing view if evidence remains incomplete.
- Classify the result as acceptable, uncertain, or a visible mismatch requiring current after-sale review.
Preserve the full original images and note which one supports the decision. If you create an annotated copy, do not cover seams or edges with arrows. Keep the unedited version beside it. Record the date and warehouse item ID so the evidence cannot be confused with another size or replacement.
Keep alignment separate from finish and function
An aligned component can still have weak visible finishing, and a slightly offset component can still function. Use the stitching and finish QC checklist for seam continuity, edge treatment, surface marks and visible hardware attachment. Do not turn a placement review into a claim about hidden durability, fabric composition or authenticity.
Likewise, a centered zipper in a still image does not prove that it operates smoothly. A symmetrical shoe pair does not prove fit. A level handle does not prove load strength. Write only what the evidence shows and route unanswered functional questions to an appropriate current service if one is available.
Make the shipping decision from evidence, not aesthetics alone
Once the relevant views are clear, choose whether the visible difference crosses your stated threshold. If it does, preserve the source reference, full QC images and exact comparison before examining return or exchange options in the live order. If it does not, record that you accepted the visible variation. If evidence remains uncertain and the uncertainty would change your decision, pause shipment and ask the precise question.
This method will not make every judgement objective. It makes the judgement traceable. Product landmarks, camera checks and a written threshold explain why you approved, requested evidence or investigated a mismatch. That is more reliable than drawing a centerline against the edge of a tilted photograph and treating the result as proof.
